Do you have the time and desire to complete some of the project yourself?
Let's face it, well, let's not face it, this economy SUCKS! Rising gas prices, rising food prices, rising material prices, you name it. If it has a price, it's going up. Even things that seemingly have no reason to increase in price are going up. Yet we still want the things we want.
Tighten your belts and stretch your suspenders if you must. In this article I am going to attempt to show you how you can potentially save big money on your cabinetry project.

What are you willing to do yourself?
When it comes to saving money on a cabinet project, my first estimate comes with all the tasks necessary to deliver a complete project. Sometimes, however, I don't have to do every task because some people want to do specific parts of the project themselves.
Being able to complete a part of the project provides a lucrative opportunity for our customers to save money. Additionally, our customers can find enjoyment in the parts of projects they wish to complete themselves. Therefore, we offer options for our customers to complete some or most of the project(s) themselves. Those parts of the project include assembly, pickup/delivery, installation and painting.
Assembly
Do you have basic DIY tools and know how to use them? Assembling our cabinets is a fairly straight forward endeavor. If you have all the pieces to the puzzle and can follow some basic instructions and tutorials, you can assemble our cabinets! The last section of this article is a short, but necessary list of the most common tools needed to assemble and install our ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets.
Installation
If you would like to pickup you cabinets at our shop and complete the installation part of your project, you can.
Installing wall-hung cabinets often requires an extra set of hands to get the job done.
Painting and Finishing
Painting can be a very relaxing and rewarding project. If you are someone who likes to paint, you have an opportunity with me to do just that. Or, if time and skill do not allow, it would not hurt my feelings if you had someone else to do the painting part of your project.
Do you like video tutorials?
I have a few important videos on my YouTube Channel Custom Woodworking for Fun and Profit when it comes to tips and installation.
Mine isn't the fanciest YouTube channel, although the skills and knowledge I have gained over the years are certainly worth sharing to help others with DIY projects for fun and profit. There is no wrong way when it comes to DIY, but there is a right way. The right way is your way!
I am currently in the process of adding more and updating my video content. Feel free to request specific videos about cabinetmaking and installation and I will do my best to put it out there.
In addition to short tips and tricks, I have been making videos about the methods and processes related to assembling cabinetry that my sources and I provide.
Do you have a source for guidance?
Consultation opportunities abound! If you need a little handholding and guidance during the parts of your project you are completing yourself or run into any snags, make a list of your questions and schedule a consultation to speak directly with me about your project.
If you made an attempt to complete some parts of your project and find you may have bit off more than you could chew or don't have the time you thought you might have, if you are local to the Louisville and Lexington, KY and Kentuckiana areas, call or text (502) 533-8282 for an installation estimate and timeframe.
